With the premium art book Armando Mariño: The Shrine, we present an extensive overview of the art of Armando Mariño, including his newest works and a deep dive into his oeuvre, with numerous sketches and studies illustrating the artistic process. Curator Beata America, curator, art historian and advisor Maylin Pérez and professor, art collector and specialist in Cuban art François Vallée present their views on the art of Armando Mariño, including an interview with the artist detailing his life and inspirations.

Armando Mariño (b. 1968) is a prominent Cuban artist whose art centers on identity, freedom and the Black and Cuban experience. He had his breakthrough in the 90s when Cuba started to open up to the outside world after decades of turmoil and revolution. Since then, he has exhibited his art in galleries and museums around the world and had his art featured in several publications and important collections.
